How often do you do the right thing, without first counting the cost?

Sometimes I ponder who I am, and I struggle to define myself beyond what I do.

Sometimes I wonder if my presence here on earth is some bizarre cosmic joke, at which the entirety of heaven (and hell) laughs.

Sometimes I question the eternal. Do I desire eternity more than I fear dieing?

Do you ever ponder who you are?

Do you ever wonder why you are here?

Do you ever question where you are going?

Well then...... I guess that makes two of us!

Do you believe that fear and hope are mutually exclusive?

Isn't it possible that fear and hope are just different sides of the same coin?

After all, aren't the present and the future each pregnant with both opportunity and danger?

Does it make sense that fear, which is the anticipation of possible danger, would not go hand in hand with hope, which is the anticipation of possible deliverance?

I think fear can be a good thing. In fact, I would even venture so far to say, that fear is a necessary thing.

How do I leave the "fullness of knowing" to God?

How do I balance my need to know and to understand, with my deep love of mystery?

Perhaps it is in God alone, that these two poles are equalized, united and made whole....

Have you ever noticed how true transformation is both radical and unsettling?

God is all knowing, right? (omniscient)

God is all powerful, right? (omnipotent)

And, according to scripture, God knows each of us better than we know our own selves.

Assuming you accept and believe this, do you think it is possible for any one of us to surprise God?

What is true happiness?

So, why is it that I can't find any biblical references of Jesus laughing?

Jesus weeps. Jesus mourns. Jesus heals; but does he ever laugh in scripture?

What have I done to you O watcher of all humanity?
Why have you made me your target?
Job 7:19-20

Like many of us, Job suffered and Job wondered.....

Have you ever asked God why he allows your suffering?
(I have.)

Did he answer?
(Yes, and no.)

What did he say?
(He has a purpose for everything.)

I was not comforted by that answer.
