Informing Vs. Involving
Have you ever noticed how hard we try to define, measure, and control God?
My Christian friends tell me that I should read the Bible if I want to know God better. They tell me I should study the Bible and that I should memorize scripture.
Now, I'm not saying that this isn't good advice; but is the Bible really about informing or is it more about involving?
Think about it.
Is God's holy word all about informing mankind of God's nature?
Or....
......is God's holy word more about involving mankind in God?
I'm beginning to believe that the Bible is more about God's invitation to involve/include us in God's story.
Believing this requires a different way of reading the Bible.
I often feel very alone in this.
I wonder why that is?
